Zoinks the Wonder Dog is the twelfth episode of the second season of Shaggy & Scooby-Doo Get a Clue!, and the twenty-fifth overall.
Premise[]
Both Zoinks and Groovy Don, the original dog and owner of Shaggy and Scooby, respectively, mysteriously return to cause some mayhem, courtesy of Dr. Phibes.
Synopsis[]
As Shaggy and Scooby reminisce on their past photographs, Zoinks, Shaggy's long-lost dog, appears at their door. However, Zoinks is really a robot impostor Phibes created to tear Shaggy and Scooby apart. As such, Zoinks constantly frames Scooby for various malicious acts, which Shaggy accuses Scooby of committing out of jealousy. Zoinks also sabotages Robi to prevent Albert Shaggleford from revealing Phibes' plot. Then, a robotic impostor of Groovy Don, Scooby's long-lost owner, appears at the door. Scooby likewise chooses Groovy Don over Shaggy, and after Zoinks and Groovy Don break the remote, Shaggy and Scooby separate, choosing their own respective partners.
With the two separated, Phibes orders Zoinks to kill Shaggy and Groovy Don to kill Scooby. Shaggy and Scooby each realize they have been tricked by robotic impostors. However, Groovy Don's laser hits Robi, reversing the damage caused by Zoinks' laser. As Shaggy and Scooby reunite, they retreat to the underground laboratory, and Zoinks and Groovy Don accidentally hit each other with their laser, melting away their disguises and revealing their robotic skeleton.
Zoinks and Groovy Don pursue Shaggy and Scooby in the basement, preparing to open fire at them. However, Scooby eats a Scooby Snack producing a protective bubble around them, shielding them from the lasers. As Zoinks and Groovy Don repeatedly fire their lasers, the lasers ricochet off the bubble, hitting themselves instead. Eventually, Zoinks and Groovy Don destroy each other, reducing each other to scraps, and the lasers refract back to Phibes' lair, hitting him in a barrage. Shaggy and Scooby reconcile, taking new photos for memories.

- Having the guys have different previous pets and owners, respectively, would indicate that this is either ignoring what's come before or is set in a separate universe, as the The New Scooby-Doo Movies episode The Lochness Mess, the The New Scooby-Doo Mysteries episode Happy Birthday, Scooby-Doo, and A Pup Named Scooby-Doo strongly establishes that Scooby and Shaggy have known each from practically since each other's birth.
