The woods was haunted by three different monsters.

The gang arrived at the woods to investigate a haunting going about, and ran into the Headless Horseman coming out of nowhere, the Ghost of Captain Cutler who emerged from a lake, and a Witch Doctor at an abandoned village.
The gang were able to catch all three crooks after a long chase around the woods, and they were revealed to be Elwood Crane, John Simms and Captain Cutler himself.
