The Witch's Ghost was the disguise of Mr. McKnight, who wore it for a publicity-stunt. It was based on the story of Sarah Ravencroft after Mr. McKnight and Mayor Corey found the head marker for her grave.

Physical appearance[]

She was a glowing green witch, wearing a long light green skirt, an equally green and tattered shirt with long loose sleeves and an open v-collar, a rope as a belt holding the skirt and shirt together as a dress, and finally a light green pointy witch-hat. She had milk-white skin, long greenish-blonde hair, a gaunt face with a long nose, a fang-filled mouth and red eyes.

Personality[]

She seemed extremely angry and vengeful, wishing revenge onto the town. She was also ruthless, casting fireballs at the gang and chasing them without mercy.

Powers and abilities[]

  • Flight: She was able to fly using wires and a moving cherry picker.
  • Pyrokinesis: She threw burning balls of cloth from a small cannon striped to her wrist and hidden by her sleeve.

History[]

Scooby-Doo! and the Witch's Ghost[]

It was an attempt by some of the locals, including the mayor, who were trying to attract tourists to Oakhaven, Massachusetts. Mr. McKnight was the one who wore the costume. Jack operated a cherry picker to make the Witch's Ghost fly. Willard and Molly Parken also helped out.

Mr. McKnight unmasked

Mr. McKnight unmasked.

She first appeared after Shaggy and Scooby had ran away from the Hex Girls, chasing them while screeching how the town would pay. She later appeared inside a barn when Shaggy and Scooby had followed the mayor into it, where she attacked them until they fled. She made a final attack when the gang, Ben and the Hex Girls all met at the girls' stage, but was stopped when she fell for the gang's trap, which consisted of her getting smacked by a large tree branch into a soccer goal. She was then unmasked by Fred, revealing Mr. McKnight underneath the mask.

When Ben Ravencroft reveals his true colors after finding his ancestor's book, he reveals that while he did take advantage of the Witch's Ghost, the town was unaware of his plans and came up with the idea themselves.

Trivia[]

  • When the Witch's Ghost gets captured, we can see that when she flies into the soccer goal, that she's wearing a lot of underskirts, which would seem a bit weird and unnecessary, since the one wearing the costume was Mr. McKnight, a man.
    • Also, after she lands into the goal, her design changes a bit, with her face looking saggy, her shoes (which disappeared when we saw her fly into the goal) stick out, and her breasts disappears. But we can just assume that's the way because she got brutally smacked in the stomach by the oak branch the gang used and landed quite hard into the goal.
    • It's never explained how Mr. McKnight managed to sound like a woman while wearing the costume. It's possible he had a voice changer in the mask, but that would have been quite hard to come by at the time, not to mention expensive.
    • It's also never explained why just Mr. McKnight was the one wearing the costume. It could be because he was the only one out of the culprits that could wear it (since the other ones have either too thick or too bulky physical appearances), but it wouldn't be that hard for them to find someone else in town to do it, since if their scheme would succeed the entire town would benefit from it.
