Cultural references[]
- Dracula and Frakenstein are based more on their 1930s cinematic incarnations than the depictions in their source novels.
- In the source novel, the monster is unnamed, and Frankenstein is the name of the man who made the monster. In some film adaptations, the name is applied to the monster himself.
- The Bride of Dracula is modeled on the Bride of Frankenstein from the eponymous 1935 movie.
- To discourage the Draculas from giving his brain to Frankenstein, Shaggy says "Like, look, you don't need our brains. We've had them for years and they still don't work." This is very similar to what Wilbur Grey (Lou Costello) says in Abbott and Costello Meet Frankenstein (1948) in the same predicament.
Notes/trivia[]
- This is the first appearance of a real Dracula, but it's unknown whether or not he's the same Dracula in future appearances. The same goes for Dracula's wife.
- Frank Welker is uncredited in all episodes
Miscellaneous[]
- "Zoinks" count: 1.
- "Rikes" count: 1.
- "Puppy Power" count: 0.
Animation mistakes and/or technical glitches[]
- None known.
Inconsistencies/continuity errors and/or goofs/oddities[]
- The town is notably afraid of Frankenstein's Monster, but they don't appear to have a problem with the vampires or werewolf. A possible explanation is the family is generally peaceful and reclusive, and it is only when Frankenstein's Monster loses control that they become fearful.
