In a mansion, butler Alfred Pennyworth opens a letter from Daphne Blake, only to be attacked and abducted by a bat-like monster. Mystery Inc. travels to Wayne Manor to visit Alfred, revealing that he knew Daphne via a complex relationship. However, they encounter another, more hostile vehicle on the road, who tailgates the Mystery Machine and swerves unexpectedly, causing the latter to swerve and nearly crash. Based on the vehicle's features and behaviour, they suspect it to be the Batmobile, the vehicle of the superhero Batman.
Insert details here.

  +
  +
Arriving at the mansion, they discover the mansion ransacked, covered in scratch marks, and Alfred missing. Suspecting crime, they investigate the mansion for clues regarding his disappearance. While they do not identify the monster, Shaggy and Scooby discover a stick of lipstick in the house, and they also encounter Batman inside the mansion. Batman captures all members of Mystery Inc. and interrogates them. After measuring Scooby's paws and determining they are not responsible for the crime, Batman renders them unconscious and expels them out of the mansion, leaving them in the Mystery Machine. To continue their investigations, they decide to visit the only place the rare brand of lipstick was ever sold, an abandoned department store in Gotham City.
  +
  +
Entering the store, they discover the same brand of lipstick in the store, confirming that the monster had visited the location. They find a laptop indicating that the perpetrator had been trying to hack Bruce Wayne's bank accounts to steal its funds. Velma contacts Batman to share her findings. While Batman suspects the scratch marks to be that of the Man-Bat, he finds that Kirk Engstrom, the real Man-Bat, never escaped Arkham Asylum, suggesting the monster that attacked Wayne Manor is an impersonator of the true monster. However, the Man-Bat appears in the department store, kidnapping Velma.
  +
  +
Mystery Inc. decides to set a trap for the Man-Bat. Scooby successfully lures the monster into appearing with a disguise and claims of possessing cash. However, the bat, capable of flight, avoids Fred's trap as it chases Scooby, causing it to fail. Shaggy attempts to spray the bat down with a hose, but he loses control of the excessively-powerful hose. Completely unable to fight the powerful monster, Daphne accidentally falls into Fred's trap, rendering it out of commission. Batman suddenly arrives at their rescue by crashing through the skylight and engages in physical combat with the Man-Bat.
  +
  +
Batman makes use of his flight capabilities, superhuman strength and Batarangs in an attempt to stop the Man-Bat. However, even after a prolonged fight, the Man-Bat continues to overwhelm Batman, trapping him under a bookcase and leaving Shaggy and Scooby precariously hanging on a chandelier. Under their weight, the chain snaps, causing the chandelier to free fall. However, it manages to capture the Man-Bat in the process, and Batman rescues Shaggy and Scooby just before it lands, leaving the still-trapped Man-Bat unable to move.
  +
  +
The Man-Bat turned out to be the Joker, who wore multiple masks in an attempt to deceive Mystery Inc. The Joker, who wanted to hack into Bruce Wayne's bank account, disguised himself as the Man-Bat and kidnapped Alfred Pennyworth. Keeping him in the abandoned department store where he would not be found, the Joker attempted to torture him with a tennis ball launcher into revealing the passwords. However, when Mystery Inc. arrived at the crime scene, the Joker re-used the disguise in an attempt to deter them from further investigating. With the Joker handed over to authorities, Mystery Inc. threw a banquet in Wayne Manor with Alfred, though Wayne is strangely absent from the meal.

What a Night, for a Dark Knight! is the thirteenth episode of season 1 of Scooby-Doo and Guess Who?

Premise

Mystery Inc. visits Daphne's "Uncle Alfie" at Wayne Manor, only to find him missing. They are then targeted by the Batman.

Synopsis
