Weerd is one of two ghosts, along with Bogel, who tricked Shaggy Rogers and Scooby-Doo into opening the Chest of Demons; however in subsequent appearances they serve only as incompetent henchmen to which ever monster was released from the chest.
He is a little bit smarter than Bogel is. He also has the power to use black magic. Yet he has only be seen using it in To All the Ghouls I've Loved Before where he was also sleeping in a coffin.
