Warden Snickersen was in charge of Cheever Penitentiary in the 1870s. His crimes led to a prison revolt led by Jean Lebeau which ended in the prison's destruction.

Physical appearance[]

Snickersen, being a long-deceased historical figure, only appears in a flashback. He was a plump, middle-aged man with brown hair, a chevron mustache, and glasses with square lenses. He wore a white shirt with an upturned collar, a khaki blazer with notch lapels, and a black bowtie. He also wore brown pants and black shoes.

Personality[]

In Jean Lebeau's historical account, Snickersen was described as a morally-bankrupt man purely motivated by avarice. He endangered lives for economic gain, causing shipwrecks and plundering its treasures with no regard to the ships destroyed or the lives endangered. He was not discreet about his crimes as he forced his prisoners to aid him, showing how he only values his prisoners as a source of free labour. His pure disregard for human life, both innocent and guilty, united the prisoners against him and led to the entire prison's destruction.

History[]

Early life[]

Snickersen was the warden of Cheever Penitentiary in 1872. During his time, he regularly turned off the lighthouse light during storms to cause ships to crash, then forced prisoners to plunder gold from the wreckage, keeping the gold for himself in a vault. His crimes caused the prisoners, led by Jean Lebeau, to riot against the warden, starting a fire which burned the prison down. Snickersen's fate following the incident is unknown, but his gold remained lost even after the prison was rebuilt.

Season two[]

Over a century after the new prison closed and became abandoned, Snickersen's descendants, Jeremy and Jeanene Snickersen, visited the prison in search of the missing gold. However, the gold was found by Velma Dinkley of Mystery Inc., even though Jeremy attempted to scare the group away by posing as Jean Lebeau's ghost.
