- This article is about the ventriloquist dummy from the Scooby-Doo and Guess Who? episode Too Many Dummies! For other uses, see Walter (disambiguation).
Walter is a ventriloquist dummy owned by Jeff Dunham.
Physical appearance[]
Walter is a ventriloquist dummy resembling a thin, middle-aged, balding man. He has short black hair on the sides of his head, rosy cheeks, a pointy nose, and wrinkles. He wears a black vest over a blue, long-sleeved shirt, as well as a red bowtie. He also wears a pair of grey pants and brown shoes. As part of his character, he is always sitting with his arms crossed in discontent and has a constant, grumpy frown.
Personality[]
Despite being an inanimate object, Dunham's advanced puppetry and ventriloquism allow him to make Walter appear like a separate person, having a personality distinct from his owner. While Dunham is generally affable and cooperative, Walter constantly speaks in a very grumpy way, often with a brash, negative and sarcastic view of the events. This also means that Walter is much more fearless than Mystery Inc., not being afraid of the various threats they encounter. However, he still demonstrates some fear, as shown when he encountered an old lady and her son threatening to acquire him by force.
History[]
Scooby-Doo and Guess Who?[]
Season one[]
When Jeff Dunham was invited as a judge for Baz Bozzington's charity ventriloquist competition, he brought along Walter who served as a companion. He was first seen with Dunham meeting Mystery Inc. at the event site. However, when they stayed at the motel, he and another dummy, Petunia, were noticed by the motel's owner, who collected dolls. The motel owner stole Petunia from her owner's motel room, so Dunham assisted Mystery Inc. and Darci Lynne Farmer in finding the stolen doll, bringing Walter along. Finding Petunia in the owner's house, they confronted the owner, but she and her son turned hostile against and chased after them, targetting both Walter and Petunia. Dunham escaped with Walter with the help of event organizer Baz Bozzington.
Later, Walter accompanied Jeff Dunham during the competition, providing commentary on Dunham's behalf.
