Henry Thornwald is revealed as the culprit.
Col. Henry Thornwald fabricated the Wakumi legend to scare people away from a secret project and to capture climbers who got too close. He also disguised himself as a Shaman to promote the fake legend about the bird.
Appearances[]
- What's New, Scooby-Doo?
- 213. New Mexico, Old Monster (no lines)
Trivia[]
- The Wakumi is a variation of the Thunderbird, a mythical being important to several Native cultures in the western parts of North America. It may be based on the Teratorn, a prehistoric condor capable of hunting down human children.
- The Wakumi might share some similarities with the Willawaw from The Scooby-Doo Show as both are aerial transportation vehicles disguised as a large predatory bird (the Wakumi is a hang glider disguised as a large eagle while the Willawaw is a balloon disguised as a large owl), as well as being fabricated by a villain as a Native American legend.
