Vernee Watson-Johnson is an American screen and voice actor. She is best known for her recurring roles as Vernajean Williams on Welcome Back, Kotter, and as Viola "Vy" Smith, the mother of Will Smith's character, on The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air (starring James Avery). She was the voice of Dee Dee Skyes on Captain Caveman and the Teen Angels, reprising the role on Laff-a-Lympics.
