The Wedding Witch of Wainsly Hall! is the twenty-second episode of season 1 of Scooby-Doo and Guess Who?
Premise[]
Mystery Inc. solves a mystery involving a ghost witch with comedian Jeff Foxworthy.
Synopsis[]
Mystery Inc. travels to Wainsly Hall, a mansion abandoned for over 150 years. However, just as they are about to enter, the Wedding Witch of Wainsly Hall appears on the rooftop, pushing a statue off the rooftop and threatening them. Just then, comedian Jeff Foxworthy arrives on a truck, explaining that he wanted to relocate the mansion to make way for an interstate bypass, but the witch scared away his crew. After eating from a food truck, Mystery Inc. and Foxworthy enter the mansion to investigate.
Entering a banquet hall, they find the table set with spoiled food, having been left untouched since the mansion's abandonment. Velma explains that the Wedding Witch of Wainsly Hall is the ghost of Lenora Wainsly, who cursed the mansion after her fiancee, famous chef Bayard B. Beauregard, left her on her wedding day. At that moment, the witch appears out of a painting and chases Mystery Inc. and Foxworthy around the kitchen, with them hiding in the various cupboards and shelves.
After a prolonged chase, Mystery Inc. and Foxworthy finally escape the wedding witch by hiding inside an upright piano. They are found by the construction forewoman responsible for moving the mansion. The forewoman refuses to begin the project until the witch is neutralized. At that point, they decide to split up and search for clues. Inside the mansion, Fred, Velma, and Daphne find a spilled test tube, deciding they have enough evidence to incriminate the perpetrator.
Shaggy, Scooby and Foxworthy watch a bug zapper lantern, where they are confronted by an old woman living beside the mansion. The woman claims she wants Wainsly Hall demolished to make way for the interstate highway. Returning to the mansion banquet hall, they find a fresh pie laced with sedatives and unknowingly eat it, causing them to fall asleep. When they wake up, they experience hallucinations, believing Shaggy is marrying the wedding witch. When the hallucinogens wear off, they are chased by the wedding witch out of the house, where they reunite with Fred, Velma and Daphne.
Mystery Inc. prepares a trap for the wedding witch, using Shaggy, Scooby, and Foxworthy as bait. Pretending to eat the food in the banquet hall, they successfully lure the witch into appearing. The witch chases them into the bathroom, where, upon the activation of the trap, she becomes tangled in preset wires. The tied-up witch is then thrown into a bathtub which is wheeled out of the mansion. At the same time as the trap, the mansion is lifted off its foundation by a crane and placed on the back of Foxworthy's truck.
The wedding witch turned out to be the food truck chef lady who is actually a food archaeologist that breaks into historic locations, steals food samples for study, and recreates the ancient recipes. She wanted to gather a sample of the food from Wainsly Hall's banquet hall, so she disguised herself as the witch to temporarily halt relocation efforts until she could gather the samples she needed. As she did not commit any crimes, she was not handed over to authorities, but Shaggy and Scooby later eats the food from the banquet hall, preventing her from obtaining the samples. Later, Mystery Inc. sees Foxworthy carrying the mansion on his truck, though he significantly slows down traffic while moving the truck.

Cultural references[]
- The decaying wedding feast is a reference to the jilted Miss Havisham's moldy feast in the Charles Dickens novel Great Expectations.
- At one point, Foxworthy said he was "not in Kansas any more," a reference to the 1939 film The Wizard of Oz.
Animation mistakes and/or technical glitches[]
- When the Wedding Witch is pushed into the bathtub, her legs are bare, but in the next shot, she wears white stockings.
- When the Wedding Witch is unmasked, her yellow pupils are gone, her skin is slightly darker, and the food truck chef lady's light brown bun is seen peeking outside of the mask.
- The credits list the Construction forewoman as "Contruction Foreperson," misspelling the word "construction."
Inconsistencies/continuity errors and/or goofs/oddities[]
- Velma explains that the witch used overhead strings to simulate flight. Not only are these strings never shown in any other shot, the witch at one point flies through a window from outside the mansion, something that would not be possible to accomplish with strings.
- Wainsly Hall is being moved by Jeff Foxworthy to make way for a six-lane interstate bypass. However, there is fog visible in the background of many outdoor scenes, an inadvisable weather condition for high-speed vehicles.
- When the perpetrator watches Mystery Inc. through eye holes in a painting, brown eyes are shown. However, the perpetrator, when unmasked, has black eyes.
- When the mansion is lifted onto Foxworthy's truck, its entrance faces the front of the truck. However, on the highway, the mansion is seen facing the left.
- In the final shot, several vehicles are lined up behind Foxworthy's truck, honking, suggesting Foxworthy's truck is blocking the traffic. However, the road has two lanes, the left of which is completely unoccupied.
- In the same scene, some vehicles are seen side-by-side in the same lane.
