Notes/trivia[]
- Shaggy has a cowards handbook.
- Mystery Inc. visits an Indian cliffdwelling for the third time; the previous time was in the The Scooby-Doo Show episode, A Bum Steer For Scooby.
- When the bear head falls on Scooby, a music cue very reminiscent of the Super Mario Bros jingle can be heard. This episode came out 6 years before the game was released which makes this just a coincidence.
- It is one of the first, and few, times in which the monster doesn't fall for Shaggy and Scooby's disguises.
- Shockingly, a cave painting of a decapitated person made it past the censors.
Miscellaneous[]
- Disguises: Shaggy as concession seller.
- Scooby Snacks bribe: 0.
- "Zoinks" count: 2.
- "Ruh-roh" count: 2.
- "Jeepers" count: 1.
- "Jinkies" count: 1.
- "Puppy Power" count: 3.
Animation mistakes and/or technical glitches[]
- Scrappy's eyes are brown when he asks Scooby about splatting the Devil Bear after it disappears from threatening Shaggy.
- When Shaggy denounced the rain dance as nonsense, Scooby's lower jaw is missing, and reappeared when he spoke.
Inconsistencies/continuity errors and/or goofs/oddities[]
- At the beginning of the episode, the female archaeologist calls the bear a "Demon Bear", after that, it is always referred to as the Devil Bear.
- Velma states that bears only have four claws, this is untrue. Bears have five nonretractible claws.
