Notes/trivia[]

  • Velma mentions that her father used to take her to see football matches there all the time as a child, and Mayor Ken Livingston seems to know the Mystery Inc. for some reason; Could be that the original draft of the story had it occur in Velma's original hometown or in Coolsville?
  • The reporter in this story has a strong resemblance to Harry Harrison from the What's New, Scooby-Doo? episode Roller Ghoster Ride.
  • The "S" on Izzy "In-Zone" Washington can mean that either the town or the team's name starts with an "S".

Coloring mistakes[]

  • None known.

Inconsistencies/continuity errors and/or goofs/oddities[]

  • None known.

Reception[]

While the art in the second story is a major step up in quality, this story also lacks an element of fairplay. There's no way of knowing that the suspect is connected to the piece of evidence that Velma finds, and that entanglement could have easily been teased in the dialogue. No excuse for the usually reliable Robbie Busch. Sorry.[1]
