The 7th Inning Scare! is the twelfth episode of season 2 of Scooby-Doo and Guess Who?, and the thirty-eighth overall.
Premise[]
Mystery Inc. goes to a baseball match, and Macklemore is there to throw out the first pitch. But it seems that Macklemore is haunted by a zombie mascot, who soon appears and disrupts the game!
Synopsis[]
Mystery Inc. visits Seattle to attend a baseball game, with rapper Macklemore appearing to throw the first pitch. However, he is suddenly attacked by a yak monster, who appears from a hole in ground and attempts to drag Macklemore underground. Mystery Inc. aids him, with Fred driving the monster away with a bag of powdered chalk. Unharmed by the incident, Macklemore explains that he is a fan of Mystery Inc., and invited them to the baseball game to help him investigate the zombie mascot terrorizing him.
After getting into an argument with the aggressive umpire and being expelled from the stadium, they decide to visit Macklemore's mansion. Mystery Inc. notes the various newspaper articles of them hung on the walls, and Velma notes the calf exercise machines in the gym. They also meet his assistant, Bevin, before entering his room of baseball memorabilia. They find the mascot costume of the Seattle Jaguars, which Daphne notes is identical to the monster that attacked them at the stadium. However, the costume comes to life, attacking them. Mystery Inc. tricks the monster into falling into a swimming pool, but this causes a shock wave which causes the mansion to collapse.
Mystery Inc. and Macklemore decide to investigate the nearby baseball store for more clues. They speak with the store owner, J. Jasper Jasperson, who explains the legend surrounding the zombie mascot. According to the legend, the curse stemmed from a baseball game in 1908, in which a mascot accidentally stopped Seattle Jaguar "One Swing" McGee from scoring a home run. The mascot was chased by an angry mob into a cave for causing the team to lose the game, and was killed when the cave collapsed.
Shaggy spots a naval mine in the store, which Jasperson explains was a gift to him by his father. Suddenly, the monster appears and attacks them. During the chase, Scooby accidentally runs into the mine and causes it to detonate, destroying the entire store. The collapse reveals a hidden doorway leading to the Seattle Jaguars' locker room. However, Macklemore is dragged by the monster into one of the cubbies. Instead of chasing after the monster, they decide to prepare a trap for it at the stadium.
As part of the trap, Mystery Inc. poses as baseball players playing at the stadium, with Scooby posing as a mascot. When the monster appears, Shaggy and Scooby fire a baseball launcher at the monster, incapacitating it as Fred captures it with a net. However, because the baseball launcher shattered light bulbs, causing sparks, and broke pipes, causing gas to leak out, the umpire warns them to evacuate the stadium before the sparks cause a gas explosion. Mystery Inc. and the umpire drag the monster out of the stadium before the explosion causes the stadium to collapse.
The zombie mascot turned out to be Macklemore. A admirer of Mystery Inc. and their mystery-solving abilities, Macklemore wanted to pose as a monster just so Mystery Inc. could unmask him, even destroying his entire mansion in the process. He trained his calf muscles so he could stage the first monster attack, as he faked the monster pulling him underground by his legs. He also had Bevin to serve as his accomplice, getting him a robotic zombie mascot for when Macklemore could not pose as the monster himself. To redeem himself for posing as the zombie mascot, Macklemore has a new stadium built to replace the stadium that was destroyed in the explosion.

Continuity[]
- Macklemore's house has many newspaper reports that reference Mystery Inc.'s past, including:
- Scooby-Doo not knowing he is a dog when referred to as one. That is from the first four DTV movies.
- The Phantom being unmasked, from the Scooby-Doo, Where Are You! episode Hassle in the Castle.
- The scene in which they are all reading a book from the Scooby-Doo, Where Are You! episode What a Night for a Knight.
- There is also a projector in Macklemore's cinema showing the Cat Mummy from the Guess Who? episode Ollie Ollie In-Come Free!
Notes/Trivia[]
- Fred announces the celebrity guest on the title card.
- The infamous "Big Game of 19 aught 8" was lost for the Seattle Jaguars by their mascot. Seattle's baseball team at that time was actually the Seattle Indians (later the Seattle Rainiers), who were a minor league team (Northwest League 1907-1917).
- This is the fifth episode in the series where the guest star is actually the villain, following The Cursed Cabinet of Professor Madds Markson!, A Run Cycle Through Time!, The High School Wolfman's Musical Lament! and The Feast of Dr. Frankenfooder!.
- It was revealed that Macklemore is a big fan of Mystery Inc.
- According to Teletoon's schedule this episode may air in 2021, when originally going to air in 2020.

Animation mistakes and/or technical glitches[]
- The opening theme song does not have its usual sound effects.
Inconsistencies/continuity errors and/or goofs/oddities[]
- In most shots of the opening scene, Macklemore wears a blue, short-sleeved shirt. However, in a close-up shot of his face, he is seen wearing a long-sleeved shirt.
- Both Macklemore's mansion and Jasperson's store collapse from the top down, but the structural impacts that caused the collapses occurred near the buildings' base, meaning they should have collapsed from the bottom up.
- Macklemore was not arrested for his crimes as he rebuilt the stadium he destroyed. However, he did not face responsibility for the baseball collectible store destroyed during one of his attacks.
