Physical appearance

The Tar Monster was a large, green-eyed cyclops-like creature made of simulated melting tar.

Personality

He basically just growled and roared as he chased after any intruders.

Powers and abilities

The Tar Monster only had the ability to swim through tar, which was because it had a diving suit underneath.

History

Early life

According to legend, the Tar Monster was said to be guarding the treasure of the city of Byzantius from intruders. A statue of it was also placed in the city.

Season three

Stoner unmasked.

Stoner dressed up as the Tar Monster because he wanted to scare people away so he could have the treasure of the lost city for himself.

Scooby-Doo and the Cyber Chase

The last level of Eric Staufer's video game, which the gang had been sent to, featured a cyber version of the Tar Monster, among other old monsters the gang had captured in the past, who were all crooks in real life, but were real in the video game.
