Premise:[]
Scooby, Scrappy and Shaggy encounter a witch and her ghostly goblin, who invite them to dinner. Unfortunately, the witch plans to cook Shaggy for dinner!
Synopsis[]
Deep in a spooky swamp a witch is cooking frog leg stew for dinner in her home. Her goblin-like assistant, Globby, appears and the witch offers Globby a taste. Globby disapproves of the taste and the witch realizes she left out the main ingredient, frogs legs. Unfortunately the frog store is closed so the witch decides to use a substitute ingredient. She sends Globby into the swamp to find someone to lure back to her house where she will turn them into a frog and cook them in the stew.
Globby finds Shaggy, Scooby and Scrappy, who are riding in a boat in the swamp. Shaggy mentions it is getting dark and that it's time to go home. Not knowing which way is home Shaggy flips a coin to decide which direction to go. Globby swoops in and steals the coin. Angered, Scrappy chases after Globby and Scooby and Shaggy chase after Scrappy. Globby leads the trio straight into the witches house where she captures Scrappy in a net. The witch thinks Scrappy is hardly worth turning into a frog because he is so small. Scooby and Shaggy soon arrive which delights the witch. Seeing Shaggy she cackles "now that's more like it!". The witch thinks Shaggy is perfect to be turned into a frog and sends Globby to capture him.
The trio run and try to escape but the witch uses a spell to trap them inside her house. They hide but the witch lures them out by pretending to be kind and with an invitation to dinner. Scooby, Scrappy, and Shaggy poke their heads out, excited for food, and ask what's for dinner. The witch tells them "why, frogs legs. And...YOU'RE GOING TO BE THE FROG!." as she zaps a spell at Shaggy. Scooby and Shaggy run away but Scrappy tries to fight Globby. Globby and the witch only laugh at Scrappy and to teach him a lesson the witch attempts to turn Scrappy into a frog with the spell "Piggldy wig, piggldy wog! I'll turn you into a hopping frog!". Scooby grabs Scrappy just as the spell nearly strikes him and runs to the front door, as Shaggy frantically tries to open it. Just as Shaggy gets the door open, the witch cast the spell "Biggledy Bagley Boggs. Turn into frogs!" as the trio flee the house.
Thinking that they are safe and that the spell missed them Scooby, Scrappy and Shaggy each poke their heads back in one at a time and taunt the witch by saying "Ha Ha! You Missed!". But when Shaggy pokes his green haired head back in it's actually the witch who has the last laugh! The spell had struck Shaggy and, unbeknownst to Shaggy, changed him into a frog. Shaggy says "ribbit" and accidentally leaps back into the house, at which point he sees what has happened to him. Shaggy's body has become that of a frog while his head is normal except for having green hair. The witch states that "1 out of 3 isn't bad" while laughing at Shaggy's misfortune and appearance. Startled by his transformation, Shaggy exclaims "Zoinks! Ribbit!" And quickly hops into the swamp to seek help from Scooby and Scrappy before the witch captures him.

Shaggy turned into a frog
Scooby and Scrappy are running away into the swamp and laughing about escaping the witch, when they hear Shaggy yell "Hey, like, wait up guys!". Realizing they left Shaggy behind, they now see what has happened to him and become upset. He hops to them, let's out a deep "ribbit" and begs for their help. Knowing they are Shaggy's only hope to be restored to his human form, they come up with a plan to turn him from a frog back into a human.
The witch and Globby are disappointed that they will have to settle for a TV dinner instead of Shaggy. Scooby and Scrappy return to the witch's house, disguised as "wand inspectors" from the "Better Gnomes and Goblins Association". Scrappy fools the witch and takes her magic wand and turns Shaggy, who is hiding in a briefcase, back to his normal human self. Scooby's disguise falls off and they escape on the witch's broom. Angered by the trick and that Shaggy is no longer a frog, the witch shoots another spell at Shaggy, proclaiming he's going to be the frog. This is reflected off the mirror Shaggy is looking in and changes the witch into a frog instead. Globby laughs and she changes him into a frog. Shaggy, Scooby and Scrappy continue off on the broom.

Notes and trivia[]
- The Mystery Machine is not in this episode.
- At the beginning of the episode, a jingle similar to the Addams Family theme can be heard.
- This is actually a stock piece first used in "Ransom of Scooby Chief", and generally accompanies bad guys plotting out their schemes.
Cultural references[]
- "Better Gnomes and Goblins" plays off the magazine title: Better Homes and Gardens.
Animation mistakes and/or technical glitches[]
- Scooby and Scrappy's dogtags should have their initials stylised in teal, but are prone to have the following mistakes (including being completely covered in teal or just empty):
- Apparently the intention was for the swamp witch to have no pupils (or black dots to be specific), but a few times she has them including when she captures Scrappy and her left eye has a pupil when she reacts to Shaggy and Scooby running away after having saved Scrappy.
- When Shaggy pokes his head back inside and says "haha you missed" he has a human neck but when his body is revealed to be a frog he no longer has a neck.
Inconsistencies/continuity errors and/or goofs/oddities[]
- It's unknown whether Globby is a ghost from having died or a supernatural entity (much like Casper the Friendly Ghost is usually depicted as), but it does raise the question on his status of being "alive" when being turned into a flesh and blood being (even if it is as a frog).
- When Shaggy is turned into a frog his clothing vanishes and he only has the body of a frog. His head is normal except for his hair being green. He also speaks with his normal voice but says "ribbit" from time to time.
