Scooby-Doo! World of Mystery[]
The doctor of an unnamed village in Papua New Guinea created the hallucinations by spiking water with a magic potion to make people think they were seeing objects in the House of Spirits becoming hostile monsters and attack. So he could sell the village to a construction company and get rich.
He drove away almost the entire village, except for the chief, and the gang when they came to investigate.

The doctors revealed.
He used the potion effects again on the gang, which drove them out of the Spirit House. But after they discovered how he did it, he resulted in a last effort to get them out by wearing a giant log costume, but it soon led to his downfall as Scooby tackled him to the ground, exposing his plans, and then leading to his arrest.
