Sorcerer Snacks Scare is the seventeenth episode of season 1 of Be Cool, Scooby-Doo!

Premise[]

The gang visits a snacks factory, where the mascot sorcerer is scaring away the workers.

Synopsis[]

Sammy Samson, the CEO of the company producing Sorcerer Snacks, sits in his office, wanting to retire the brand's puppet mascot. However, a sorcerer puppet comes to life and attacks him, controlling objects with his staff. The gang later visits the factory to buy Sorcerer Snacks but learns the brand has been discontinued, and only one box remains in the store. Samson explains the sorcerer attacking the factory, based on a local sorcerer legend that he used as his brand's mascot. As the sorcerer threatens to close the factory, Samson would be forced to sell it to his rival, Beverly. As the gang begins to investigate, Fred keeps the last box of Sorcerer Snacks to prevent Shaggy and Scooby from fighting over it.

In the assembly line, Fred bribes Shaggy and Scooby with Sorcerer Snacks to investigate a dark room, though Daphne objects to the bribery. Fred, Daphne, and Velma search the security room for footage of the sorcerer but meet the head of security, Milton, who is personally offended by their investigation. After Milton storms out, they search the footage, finding that the sorcerer's staff used to control the objects also affects the camera quality. Meanwhile, Shaggy and Scooby encounter the sorcerer in a dark supply room. Chased away, they reunite with Fred's group, but the sorcerer follows them.

After escaping the sorcerer, they enter a dark room filled with puppetry (again bribing Shaggy and Scooby to follow) and meet the puppeteer, Piero. Piero claims to have seen Beverly sneaking around the factory at night. As they continue to search, they find Milton napping on the job in a secret location. As the sorcerer appears again, they run away, though Fred repeatedly uses bribes to get Shaggy and Scooby to do his bidding. After escaping the sorcerer, Daphne takes the box of Sorcerer Snacks from Fred, no longer condoning the bribery. She gives Shaggy and Scooby the box, not expecting anything in return, but Shaggy and Scooby instead obey her orders.

Following Daphne's wishes, Shaggy and Scooby willingly pose as bait for the trap. Posing as factory workers, they start the conveyors, luring the sorcerer into appearing. However, Fred takes the staff and passes it to other gang members to keep it from the sorcerer. Though the sorcerer still overpowers Daphne on the conveyor belt, Daphne uses the staff to activate the machinery, encasing the sorcerer into a large piece of Sorcerer Snack batter. Shaggy and Scooby eat away the layer of Sorcerer Snacks so he can be unmasked.

The sorcerer is revealed to be Piero, who wanted revenge against Samson for retiring his commercial puppets. He rigged the objects around the factory to be remote-controlled by his staff, but his staff's radio waves interfered with the security cameras. As Shaggy and Scooby continue to eat away at the Sorcerer Snack batter, Piero attempts to free himself and escape but trips and Milton handcuffs him. Appreciating the gang's work in saving his factory, Samson plans to launch a new snack brand, Scooby Snacks.

Quotes[]

Scooby: Tasting is believing.

Shaggy: Come along, Scoobert. We have a mystery to solve.
Scooby: Right you are, Norville.

Piero: I would have gotten away with it too, if it weren't for you meddling puppet-haters.
Daphne: I like puppets.

Mr. Samson: You know, this has given me an idea for a new mascot. (pulls out a box with Scooby's face on it) Introducing Scooby Snacks.
Scooby: Scooby Snacks?
Shaggy: Why not Shaggy Snacks?
Mr. Samson: Kids wanna buy snacks from a talking dog, not a bearded guy.
Shaggy: That checks out.

Shaggy: (whispering) Like, can you believe it? Fred's gonna give us Scooby Snacks to do things we have to do anyway.
Scooby: (whispering) Yeah. (chuckles) Sucker.
