Scoobypedia

Sobek was the disguise of Professor Salazar, based upon her interpretation of the deity of the same name.

Physical appearance[]

Sobek was a glowing-red Egyptian deity based on their depictions in art, having an animal head and human body. Though Sobek is depicted as a crocodile, the costume uses an alligator head, so its lower teeth are not visible when its mouth is closed. It wears an ornate crown, a blue headdress, a gold linen skirt, gold bracelets, anklets, and black sandals.

Personality[]

Sobek's personally in mythology is debated among Egyptologists, with some considering him benevolent while others claimed he was a hostile monster. However, this version of Sobek was based on Salazar's interpretation of the deity, as she believed Sobek was the patron god of thieves. As such, Sobek was an aggressive and threatening monster and attacked anyone who got too close to the sarcophagus.

History[]

Be Cool, Scooby-Doo![]

Professor Salazar disguised herself as Sobek to shut down the museum's Egyptology exhibit so she could steal the golden statue within the sarcophagus, sell it, and leave the harsh Egyptology industry. She based the disguise on her own theory of Sobek, while rivalling Egyptologist Professor Hess believed Sobek was a benevolent deity. She used an alligator head from another exhibit for her disguise. Using the disguise, she removed the statue and hid it in the exhibit, but continued to use the disguise so she could extract it.

Professor Salasar unmasked

Professor Salazar unmasked.

Sobek was first seen attacking two security guards. Later, when the gang visited the museum, they heard about the attacks from a tour guide, Jeff, and began to investigate the case, though Fred temporarily allowed Jeff to lead the group in his place. Meanwhile, he took Jeff's place in giving children a tour of the exhibits, though he tried to get them to investigate Sobek with him. After several monster attacks, the two groups united and worked together to trap the monster, trapping Sobek inside a sarcophagus. Salazar was unmasked, exposed for her crimes, and handed to authorities.
