Smart House is the fifth episode of the first season of Shaggy & Scooby-Doo Get a Clue!
Premise[]
Dr. Phibes plans on unleashing an evil computer virus into the nation's weapon defense systems, but Uncle Albert gets word of it first. While intercepting the virus, Shaggy and Scooby unknowingly release the virus into their in-house computer system, which soon takes control of every appliance and utility in the mansion.
Synopsis[]
Shaggy and Scooby post a job listing for a personal chef, but Robi applies for the job, despite Shaggy and Scooby disapproving of his cooking. However, as Robi prepares a dish, he receives a message from Uncle Albert, stating that Phibes plans to upload a computer virus into the military defense system. Under Albert's instruction, Shaggy and Scooby use the house's computer system to intercept the virus. However, they are unable to disable the house computer, allowing the virus to take over the computer and hence the house, controlling all its appliances. The virus, named Kevin, uses the appliances to attack Shaggy and Scooby as it searches for a weapon supply.
After Robi assists Shaggy and Scooby in disabling the laser security system, Francoise, a highly-qualified chef, appears at the door to apply for a job. As Shaggy and Scooby attempt to hide the computer virus from Francoise, they attempt to stop the virus quickly so as to not scare Francoise away. They locate the circuit breaker in the garden and attempt to disable it, but Kevin sees them through the security cameras, foiling their plans. When they return to the house, Kevin expresses his rage and shuts them inside.
Meanwhile, Phibes contacts a military officer and finds out the virus did not affect the military defense computer, having instead been intercepted by Shaggy and Scooby. He sends the virus' creators, Mark and Ricky, to the house to recapture the virus. However, at that point, Kevin, realizing there were no weapons in the Shaggleford Manor, declares his plans to upload himself to a satellite, spreading to every other computer in the world and enslaving humanity.
Mark and Ricky enter the house and are captured by Kevin, though Shaggy and Scooby meet them. As a last-ditch effort to stop Kevin from uploading himself to the satellite, they install an antivirus program into the computer. Scooby eats a Scooby Snack, shrinking him and allowing him to sneak into the computer's machinery. He plugs in the antivirus chip, trapping Kevin inside and stopping the upload. As Kevin returns to the creators' laptop and Shaggy and Scooby hire Francoise, Mark and Ricky upload the virus to the computer in Dr. Phibes' lair.
