He showed some concern about the gang taking a risk driving through Dead Man's Drive and the Phantom Pass do to townsfolk going missing with no traces left behind. He did became proud later after the gang, though mostly Scooby's work, managed to stop the criminal responsible.

He was in town talking with the gang asking in concern about them driving on through Dead Man's Drive and the Phantom Pass, an old dirt road surrounded by mountains and cliff sides, also known to be haunted by ghosts, ghouls and goblins at night. But hopes were given by Velma when she stated they'll investigate the happenings and who is responsible.
Some time later, he was called over to the cliff sides to arrest the mastermind behind the missing cars, that being a scientist named Dr. Boris Carloft. Boris had created a formula that can make people shrink in size and even grow to massive size, which was used to make his pet eagle big enough to carry away cars, and shrink the people into the size of mice to be placed in cages, so he could later sell the cars for tons of money after building a used car lot.
