Due to being the sergeant of the police, Flint is dedicated to catching bad guys and as a result he clashes with Hong Kong Phooey at times as he sees him as a hinderance. Regardless, like many people he still sees Hong Kong Phooey as a hero. In some instances, he appears to be clueless to hints or certain dangers.
