The Sea Dog was the disguise of US navy officer, Commander Stern, pretending to live on Diablo Island.
Physical apperance[]
The Sea Dog is an elderly male with tan skin, bushy black eyebrows, yellow sclera, white hair and a beard. He wears a green jacket with a tan undershirt, a pair of torn up brown pants, a grey-ish brown knit hat and a black eyepatch covering his right eye and gray shoes. He also appeared to have a missing tooth.
Personality[]
He warned the Scooby gang to leave Diablo Island or suffer the fate of the Skeleton Men. He could also vanish without a trace.

Season three[]
Commander Stern unmasked.
He first appears on a deserted island in the Bermuda Triangle where he startles Shaggy and Scooby. He warns the gang to leave the island or else they'll be victims of the Skeleton Men before vanishing. He is encountered again when Shaggy runs back to the submarine to untie Captain Harris and the captured airmen. It is then revealed that he already freed the captive airmen and he his real identity was Commander Stern from the U.S. Navy Intelligence. He was also the one who had rescued Fred, Daphne, and Velma from drowning.
