Scott McDoon is the captain of the cruise ship, S.S. Casey,[1] and Fred Jones's cousin.
Physical appearance[]
Scott is a tall, fit young adult male, with auburn hair. As he became more "prematurely grizzled" throughout the sea creature case, he grew long hair and a beard, some of his teeth became black, and started wearing an eye-patch and a hook, plus a parrot on his shoulder. Once the case was solved, he reverted to normal.[1]
Personality[]
Although Scott and Fred seem to have a good relationship, the former teases the latter a little about how their dreams have turned out, with Fred owning a "spooky van."[1]
Having spent a considerable amount of time at sea, Scott become increasingly pirate-like, or as Velma Dinkley put it, "prematurely grizzled." Once the case was over, he was able to relax.[1]

Season one[]
The attacks of the sea creatures threatened his cruise business because he relied on his exclusive agreements to sail in places, like Bribary Bay, that other cruise companies could not. All of the extra stress from the attacks made him "prematurely grizzled," which caused him to increasingly act - and dress - like a pirate. When the sea creatures were captured, he quickly stopped acting like a pirate and returned to normal.[1]
