This article about Greek Scooby-Doo from the Be Cool, Scooby-Doo! episode Greece is the Word. For other incarnations and uses, see Scooby-Doo (disambiguation).

Scoobymus was the true identity of the Oracle, and mascot of the gang of mystery-solvers from ancient Greece. He is the Greek version of Scooby-Doo.

Physical appearance[]

Scoobymus was a fully-grown, brown-furred Great Dane, looking almost identical to Scooby-Doo, but he wore golden laurel wreath and a blue collar with golden inserts and image of laurel leaves.

Personality[]

As the Oracle, Scoobymus was regarded as an all-seeing portal of wisdom and divination, with philosophers such as Shagrates deferring to him for advice. He spoke using a pipe system that fed into a giant statue, allowing his size to intimidate others. Despite his status, he remained friendly to Shagrates and was willing to work with him to investigate the Arachne attacks.

History[]

Early life[]

Philosopher Shagrates and hunter Fredricos visited Scoobymus for advice as they sought to prove that Arachne, the spider monster terrorizing Athens, was not a real monster. Princess Velmonia and her servant, Daphne, also visited Scoobymus for advice as they were attacked by Arachne in the palace courtyard. Scoobymus initially spoke through a large statue, but Fredricos exposed his true form, finding him speaking from a small compartment. The five of them formed a group to investigate the Arachne attacks.

They eventually captured Arachne using Ladon's palace security traps and exposed Shlemielius as the mastermind behind the attacks. He ordered his servant, Aeslop, to pose as Arachne and stop the wedding so he could invade and conquer Athens.
