The Scooby-Doo impostor was the disguise of M'Lady Moonbeam, a smaller dog wearing a Scooby-Doo suit with stilts. The disguise was masterminded by Meadow, who also posed as a cat creature.
Physical appearance[]
The Scooby-Doo impostor almost perfectly resembles Scooby-Doo, being a brown Great Dane with black spots, a black nose, and bushy eyebrows. However, he does not have a collar like Scooby does.
Personality[]
Despite his physical resemblance to Scooby, the impostor did not share Scooby's personality, as Shaggy almost immediately discovered his behaviours which were not characteristic of the real Scooby. While Scooby is cowardly, gluttonous, and friendly, the impostor demonstrated no fear of the cat creature, was averse to Scooby Snacks, and showed aggression to a cat, the cat creature, and even Mystery Inc. In addition, he did not speak, which Shaggy almost immediately noticed. Ultimately, the impostor was antagonistic and acted as an accomplice in Meadow's crimes.
History[]
What's New, Scooby-Doo?[]
Season two[]
Meadow disguised her puppy, M'Lady Moonbeam, as Scooby-Doo as a decoy to assist her crimes as the cat creature. While Meadow hired two thugs to kidnap the Secret Six puppies and Scooby (who witnessed the dog thefts), the thugs replaced Scooby with the impostor.
The impostor first appeared when he prevented Scooby and Chrissy from rescuing the Secret Six from the dognappers. Later, he joined the gang and searched the parking structure with Shaggy, but Shaggy noticed something was strange about him. While investigating, the impostor behaved in ways the real Scooby would never do: not jumping into Shaggy's arms, barking at a cat, not eating a Scooby Snack, and showing no fear of the cat creature. When the cat creature showed up, Shaggy grabbed the impostor, carrying him away as he barked at the cat creature.
M'Lady Moonbeam unmasked.
The impostor and Shaggy returned to Fred, Velma, and Daphne where Shaggy informed them that the imposter was not Scooby. Fred foolishly refused to believe him until the dog rips parts of his pants when he steps on its tail. So, Mystery Inc. set out to rescue Scooby and the Secret Six, leaving the impostor behind. The impostor showed up a final time, licking Meadow after she was revealed to be the Cat Creature. The impostor was then revealed to be M'lady Moonbeam in disguise.
