Scooby-Doo and the Sky Town Cool School! is the twenty first episode of season 2 of Scooby-Doo and Guess Who? and the forty seventh overall.
Premise[]
Scooby-Doo and the gang arrive at a mountaintop "cool school" run by famous actor Billy Dee Williams. When an angry pterodactyl monster attacks the school and tries to scare everyone away, the gang's newfound "cool" is severely tested.
Synopsis[]
Fred takes Mystery Inc. into the Alpine Mountains, though he does not disclose what he intends to do there. However, while on the road, the Mystery Machine is attacked by a pterodactyl, who cracks the windshield and pushes it over the edge of a cliff. Mystery Inc. narrowly avoids hitting the bottom by activating a winch. They return to the top of the cliff and arrive at their destination.
They arrive at a "cool school" operated by actor Billy Dee Williams, where Fred intends to learn how to be "cool" with the rest of Mystery Inc. They take the lessons in walking and dramatic entrances, but Mystery Inc. fails to perform the tasks as well as Williams expects. During the lessons, they meet Williams' assistant, Jeeves, who expresses his desires to leave the school and move to a warmer location. They also meet Kathy Kavendish III, who claims to be a visitor from Ibiza.
While they ride in a hot air balloon, they are attacked by the pterodactyl, who tears holes in the balloon and causes them to free fall. Williams saves Mystery Inc. by using the torn balloon as a parachute, allowing them to land safely. However, they are attacked again by the pterodactyl, who chases them back into the building.
Mystery Inc. and Billy Dee Williams escapes the pterodactyl by disguising themselves as a covered motorcycle. While repairing a motorcycle, Mystery Inc. notices a map of the mountain, as well as footprints on the floor made with a high-octane substance. Two brothers decide to play a practical joke on Scooby by chasing him with a drone resembling a pterosaur. Velma deems them suspicious after they state their intentions to profit off the drone somehow.
After making phone calls, Velma deduces that the pterodactyl is targetting a helicopter which makes monthly deliveries of cash from a ski resort to the nearby city of Interlaken. With this knowledge, Mystery Inc. could expect to find the pterodactyl attacking the helicopter during its next delivery. Though the pterodactyl successfully takes the case of cash from the helicopter, Mystery Inc. uses a hot air balloon attached to the Mystery Machine to reach the pterodactyl and take the case. They then use the torn balloon to capture the monster. Though the Mystery Machine nearly falls off the edge of a cliff and Scooby and Shaggy fall off, Williams rescues them with his cape which allows him to fly.
The pterodactyl turned out to be Kathy, whose full name "Kathy Kavendish III" was a mere facade. In reality, Kavendish is a professional thief who used the pterodactyl disguise to scare people away from the Alps so she could more easily intercept the helicopter deliveries. She also stole a drone from the Spanish military and the footprints were made with the drone fuel. After Kavendish is handed over to authorities, Williams declares that Mystery Inc. has passed his "cool school," stating that Mystery Inc. was cool in their own way.
