History of various versions[]

Scooby-Doo and the Cyber Chase (film)[]

Eric Staufer created the game and it was soon used to show off the his high-tech laser, created by him and Bill McLemore, and it was entered into the state science fair. Bill grew to envy Eric because his baseball wasn't chosen so he created a virus for Eric's game. The laser later beamed this virus into the real world.

When Mystery Inc. were on their way to State University to see their old friend, Eric Satufer, Scooby and Shaggy were looking very forward to see and play the new game Eric had designed. Shaggy believed the game would be a lot cooler than the outer space game he was currently playing on a game buddy. When they arrive at the university Shaggy asks Eric if they could see and play the game he made that he based on them and their adventures. However, Professor Kaufman told them that no one is playing the game until they get rid of their problem. Professor Kaufman, Eric and Bill then told the gang about an anthropomorphic computer virus called the Phantom Virus, that beamed out of the high-tech laser last night. The gang correctly figured out the virus had to be created by someone.

Eric then showed the gang the game demo of Scooby-Doo and the Cyber Chase, but Professor Kaufman ordered him to not start the actual game. Eric told the gang the game has ten levels, and in the game, you fight monsters and villains while trying to find a box of Scooby Snax on each level. Eric and Professor Kaufman then show the gang how the laser works by using it to beam the Scooby Snax Box into the game.

The Phantom Virus lured the gang into the laser's line of fire so Bill could beam them into Eric's game. They were trapped until they were able to beat every level of the game, and Eric, Bill, Kaufman, and Officer Wembley watched the entire time.

In the first level, which takes place on the moon, they run from both the Phantom Virus and Moon Ghosts and use a lunar rover to drive to the box of Scooby Snax beating the level.

In the second level, which takes place in the Roman Colosseum back in ancient Rome, they discovered a baseball field drawn with chalk before the Phantom Virus revealed the level's enemies. Scooby and Shaggy distracted the skeleton gladiators while Fred, Daphne , and Velma fought a lion that had the Scooby Snax in its mouth and then placed the box on a pitcher’s mound. After they locked up the lion they were able to grab the box of Scooby Snax beating the level.

In the third level, which takes place in a prehistoric jungle, the gang ran from the Phantom Virus riding a Tyrannosaurus Rex. They rode woolly mammoths to a volcano, where Scooby rescued a trapped baby pterodactyl in its nest where the Scooby Snax are located he grabbed it beating the level.

In the fourth level, which takes place under the ocean, the gang observed the aquatic life swimming around such as fish and a sea turtle. Scooby notices the Scooby Snax Box in a treasure chest on a sunken ship. When the gang reached it, a shark swam in to take a bite out of them, and Scooby grabbed the Scooby Snax just as the shark swallowed the chest.

In the fifth level, which takes place in a backyard, the gang ran from a giant ant.

The sixth level takes place in Feudal Japan, and Daphne fights a samurai warrior.

In the seventh level, which takes place in Ancient Egypt. Scooby and Shaggy ran away from a mummy and a living statue of Anubis in an Egyptian tomb, while the rest of the gang ran from the Phantom Virus riding a camel, which he falls off of after Scooby and Shaggy ran past them.

In the eighth level, which takes place in Medieval Europe, Scooby and Shaggy defeat a fire-breathing dragon that the Phantom Virus was riding with a bucket of water, making it fly away. Shaggy took the Scooby Snax from a tied-up Princess who was holding the box.

The ninth level takes place in the Arctic, where the gang tossed snowballs at the Phantom Virus, who is riding a polar bear, Shaggy helped Scooby climb up the top of the North Pole where Scooby Snax.

When they make it to the tenth and final level, which takes place in a city, the gang ran into their cyber counterparts. They tell them where the Scooby Snax are located, on the Scooby-Doo and the Cyber Chase game in a video arcade at CyberLand. When they encounter cyber versions of Mystery Inc.'s classic foes including the Creeper, Jaguaro, the Gator Ghoul, the Tar Monster, and Old Iron Face, lead by the Phantom Virus. After dealing with the monsters in the amusement park, they head into the arcade and finally defeat the virus by beating the game the other monster despawned along with the arcade. After the Phantom Virus was defeated, Scooby and his cyber double enjoy the Scooby Snax from the box together. It was then time for the real Mystery Inc. to leave and head back to the real world. They all say goodbye to the Cyber Gang, and they are transported back to the real world.

After the gang returned back to the lab, they quickly revealed that they figured out Bill was the mastermind behind the Phantom Virus due to clues they found within the game and he confessed to his crimes as he was being arrested.

At a local diner, Eric apologizes to the gang for being beamed into the game, but they tell him they enjoyed some of the experience. Eric then opened his laptop and told Shaggy he just downloaded Scooby-Doo and the Cyber Chase on it and asked him if he wanted to play. When Shaggy opens the game on the laptop, everyone sees the Cyber Gang on the computer screen waving to them. Scooby then takes control of the laptop and gives his cyber double some Scooby Snaxs.

Trivia[]

Cyber Chase as seen in Legend of the Vampire

The game seen in Scooby-Doo! and the Legend of the Vampire.

  • Despite being based on Mystery Inc.'s mysteries, the levels (except the tenth level) are really not that close to some mysteries.
  • Aside from the film Scooby-Doo and the Cyber Chase it goes unnamed in every appearance.
    • Aside from the cyber transition and the base premise of collecting boxes of Scooby Snacks, in this version it seems to be the normal box, it's a completely different game than seen in the film.
      • The game as seen here is a two-player game where the goal is to collect a box of Scooby Snacks, likely to beat the level like other versions. The players get points for things like running.
