Scooby-Doo and Velma Dinkley (Scooby-Doo! Mystery Incorporated)

Scooby-Doo and Velma glare at Shaggy, who ran away during the trio's rivalry.

Scooby-Doo and Velma Dinkley are members and friends in Mystery Incorporated.

Dynamics[]

In most incarnations, Velma and Scooby typically have one of the closest friend relationships out of the gang. However, for much of the first season, their dynamic is quite different. The two can sometimes view each other with jealousy due to wanting Shaggy to put them over the other. They do still act like friends to each other however. After Velma and Shaggy broke up, Velma initially held a grudge against Scooby, while Scooby would feel bad and desire to make amends with her. However, after some time, Velma let go of her grudge and the two became closer as pals.

History[]

Scooby-Doo! Mystery Incorporated[]

After Scooby-Doo finds out that Shaggy and Velma were secretly dating, Scooby gets jealous and upset, starting a rivalry between the two of them and Shaggy. After Shaggy decides to take Scooby over Velma, Velma gets upset and now hates the both of them. Scooby then realizes how much Velma cares for Shaggy and feels sorry as he apologizes. However, Velma's hatred for Scooby lasted until The Wild Brood, after they were kidnapped, despite Scooby "stealing her boyfriend", Velma said that she would never let anyone hurt Scooby, and the two stayed friends onwards.

In Through the Curtain, when Marcie Fleach sacrifices herself to buy the Mystery Gang the time they need to pass through the dimensions, Scooby and Velma hear the distant sound of the robots' guns, implying that Marcie was gunned down. Scooby tries to comfort Velma, but Velma sadly tells him they need to keep going.
