The Card Back
A pack of eight trading cards was included with each magazine in the Scooby-Doo! World of Mystery series. 357 cards were available, subdivided into a number of world regions. Each card highlighted a location around the world.
Many of the cards also contained four statistics - Size, Age, Beauty and Spookiness. These attributes allowed you to play a game with the cards, similar to Top Trumps.
Following is a list of cards in each region.
Region Sets[]
Africa Cards[]
Forty eight cards showing locations in Africa were released. Each member of Mystery Inc. was featured on eight cards in the set while the final eight cards included monsters.
Americas Cards[]
Fifty two cards showing locations in the Americas were released. Each member of Mystery Inc. was featured on nine cards in the set, except for Velma who was only on seven. The final nine cards included monsters.
Asia Cards[]
Sixty cards showing locations in Asia were released. Each member of Mystery Inc. was featured on ten cards in the set while the final ten cards included monsters.
Europe Cards[]
Seventy seven cards showing locations in Europe were released. Each member of Mystery Inc. was featured on eleven cards in the set while the final twenty two cards included monsters.
Oceania Cards[]
Thirty six cards showing locations in Oceania were released. Fred was featured on eight cards. Shaggy and Scooby were featured on six cards each. Velma and Daphne were only featured on five cards each. The final six cards included monsters.
Special Sets[]
A number of special subsets were also included in the series. Some of these cards were more rare than the others.
Beautifier Cards[]
Game Cards[]
Starting with issue 3, and every three issues after that, one extra card was included with the magazine. These cards were meant to be used to play the various games in the magazine. The cards could be playing pieces, tokens, dice, etc and often required an adult to cut the card before use.
