This article is about Scooby-Doo from the animated film SCOOB! For other incarnations, see Scooby-Doo (disambiguation).

Scooby-Doo is the Great Dane mascot of Mystery Inc., and pet and best friend of Shaggy Rogers.

Physical appearance

Scooby is brown from head to toe with several distinctive black spots on his upper body. He is generally a quadruped, but displays bipedal 'human' characteristics occasionally. Scooby also has opposable thumbs and can use his front paws like hands. He has a black nose and wears an off-yellow, diamond shaped-tagged blue-green collar with an "SD" (his initials) and has four toes on each foot and unlike other dogs, Scooby only has one pad on the sole of each of his feet.

Personality

Scooby is very kind, lovable, although somewhat cowardly at times, but despite this, he loves Shaggy dearly, and would do anything to protect him and his other friends. Scooby has licked Daphne's face when he first met her as a puppy.

History

Early life

As a lonely puppy, Scooby trying to get some food on Venice Beach, when he got chased by a cop. Scooby lost the cop by hiding in a big sand pile. He had then met Shaggy, befriending him and becoming inseparable. Shaggy adopted him and gave him a collar for a present. On Halloween night, Scooby and Shaggy met Fred, Velma, and Daphne when they came to help them after two bullies threw their candy in Mr. Rigby's house. Scooby grew up with them and became more than just friends.

SCOOB!

The gang met Simon Cowell, who said that Scooby and Shaggy didn't show anything special for Mystery Inc. which made Scooby very heartbroken and left with Shaggy. Felt unwanted, they hung out at Takamoto Bowl until small robots attacked him and Shaggy. The Falcon Fury beamed them up, where they met Blue Falcon, who recruited them.

When Dick Dastardly said that he only needs Scooby and not Shaggy, Blue Falcon gave Scooby a supersuit and shows Shaggy a sad look when he promised that he would never take off his collar.

Notes/Trivia

Frank Welker was the only one of the cast from the concurrent TV series and direct-to-video films being made at the time to be reprise one of his roles. He is also the voice of Fred, although the SCOOB! version went Zac Efron.
