Premise[]
The Justice League has disappeared, and their headquarters is deserted. Lois Lane and Jimmy Olsen summon the Gang to Metropolis to find out what happened. But with many dangerous supervillains running wild, they need help - which comes in the form of Krypto the superdog. Will Mystery Inc solve the mystery before the city is overrun, or worse destroyed?
Synopsis[]
The movie opens months since the Justice League disappeared. Lois Lane and Jimmy Olsen went to the Hall of Justice to investigate the cause of the heroes' disappearance, when they were suddenly attacked and chased out by a phantom, prompting Lois and Jimmy to call Mystery Inc.
On their way to Metropolis, the gang that the city is overrun by Giganta, Solomon Grundy, Joker, Harley Quinn, General Zod, Non, Ursa, and Brainiac as a result of the missing Justice League. After barely escaping the villains, the gang meet up with Lois and Jimmy at The Daily Planet, where Jimmy proclaims Daphne to be his girlfriend, despite her protests. After Lois and Jimmy explained the situation to the gang, they toured the Hall of Justice where they meet Lex Luthor, Mercy Graves, and Rex Ruthor.
Suddenly, the phantom appears and menaces the gang, but it gets fended off by a mysterious superpowered dog, who initiates a lockdown on the gang so the phantom can't escape. Now trapped with Luthor and his associates, Luthor introduces the dog to the gang as Krypto, Superman's pet dog, who quickly becomes friends with Scooby. While the rest of the gang continue their investigation, Shaggy, Scooby and Krypto raid the kitchen, but they accidentally summon holograms of the Legion of Doom, malfunctioning the control panel. Shaggy and Scooby distract the holograms long enough for Krypto to shut them down only to learn that Solomon Grundy has infiltrated the Hall of Justice, instigating a long chase against the gang, during which they find holographic footage of the moment the Justice League disappeared.
After Grundy disappears in a flash of light, the gang learn that there are more phantoms in the Hall of Justice, and Velma learns who the culprit is behind the mystery; Mercy Graves, who wanted the convert the Hall of Justice into her own supervillain headquarters behind Luthor's back after they trapped the Justice League in the Phantom Zone with the Phantom Zone Projector, which explains the phantoms.
But before the gang can declare the mystery solved, Luthor hijacks Mercy's scheme, and he reveals that he knew about it, and he used it to cover up his true plan to rule Metropolis with his robot army, and Rex reveals himself to be a robot too and fights Krypto over the Phantom Zone Projector while the gang are preoccupied by the robot army. Despite Rex having the advantage to weaken him with Kryptonite built into his circuitry, Krypto manages to eventually come out victorious, and he uses the Phantom Zone Protector to trap the robots and free Superman, Wonder Woman, Aquaman, Flash, Hawkman, and Grundy.
In the end, Luthor and Mercy are arrested, Grundy reveals that he wanted to befriend Scooby. With the mystery solved, the gang meets Clark Kent, Jimmy "breaks up" with Daphne, and Scooby and Krypto share a snack with Flash.

Notes/trivia[]
- In the wake of a number of cancellations of Scooby-Doo productions, this movie was leaked onto the internet in its entirety in March 2023. This was despite Warner Bros. never making any announcement that this movie had been cancelled.
- On July 26, 2023 Warner Bros. Entertainment tweeted a teaser stating that a trailer for the movie would be released the next day.[1]
- For an unknown reason, this film reverts back to the DTV animation style used since Scooby-Doo! Abracadabra-Doo, despite Trick or Treat Scooby-Doo! (2022) using the style of Scooby-Doo and Guess Who?.
- The Kryptonian criminals Ursa and Non are from the movies Superman (1978) and Superman II (1980). Due to a copyright dispute with screenwriter Mario Puzo, they did not appear in comic books until 2006. Their boss, General Zod, was a character from old comic books, but their Scoobyverse likenesses are based specifically on the movie versions.
- In the Scooby-Doo! Team-Up comics, Scooby and Krypto could speak to each other in a dog language which the humans could not hear, but in this movie the two dogs cannot communicate. Lois Lane is more pushy and condescending with her underlings in this movie than in the Team-Up stories.
- Lex Luthor is said to be a former president of the United States. In the comics, he was elected in 2000 and presided over the nation during an alien invasion, after a few of his corruption schemes were foiled by Superman. The storyline became so unwieldy and convoluted that it frustrated readers, and DC Comics retconned it out of continuity in the Infinite Crisis series in 2005-2006. The fact that Mystery Inc. has no memory of Luthor's presidency is an in-joke to this swift retcon.
- It is suggested that Luthor lost the popular vote but won the electoral college. This is how George W. Bush won the real election of 2000.
Miscellaneous[]
- Disguise tricks: Shaggy and Scooby as tour guides.
Animation errors/technical glitches[]
- To be Added
Inconsistencies/continuity errors and/or goofs/oddities[]
- After Krypto initiates a lockdown at the Hall of Justice, the words on the monitor read as “Lock Up Complated.”
- Batman is discussed throughout the movie as one of the leading members of the Justice League, yet for all this foreshadowing, he does not return at the end with all the others. If he wasn't in the Phantom Zone, why was he not at the Hall of Justice, aiding Mystery Inc?
