Card List

The game featured seven card types, which performed different roles during gameplay. Players were encouraged to buy additional booster packs, after purchasing a starter deck, in order to collect cards which were more scarce. There were 230 cards released in the original set, with a 132 card expansion created in March 2001 to promote the release of Scooby-Doo and the Alien Invaders. All cards in the original set featured stills from the classic TV series. In addition, both sets included special bases for the Mystery Inc. cards, which also had gameplay effects.

Example Type Description
Clue Card
Clue Cards The fifteen "Clue Cards" each featured the title screen of a different Scooby-Doo, Where Are You! episode. Both players drew one at the start of a game, with the goal of the game itself being to guess which one was your opponent's. This was the only card type not to receive new variations in the Alien Invaders expansion.
Mystery Inc Card
Mystery Inc. The five "Mystery Inc." cards were identified by a "Scooby-Doo" icon and featured a different member of Mystery Inc. Players used these cards to investigate different locations throughout the game. In the Alien Invaders expansion, cards were added for Amber and Crystal. All cards had rare foil variations.
Locations Card
Locations The thirty three "Locations" cards were identified by a "key" icon. They featured various important episode locations and were used on each turn to give players somewhere to investigate. Only one could be played per turn. Each Location contained a "Fright Level" which players could raise or lower by playing cards, making it harder or easier to solve the mystery there. Ten new cards were added in the Alien Invaders expansion.
Monster Card
Monsters/Villains The sixteen "Monster" cards were identified by a "creeping werewolf" icon. They featured various monsters and villains and were used by players to prevent their opponents from investigating a location. They would remain in play until the location was investigated or they were captured. Nineteen new cards were added in the Alien Invaders expansion. Playing these cards required forfeiting a predetermined number of Scooby Snacks.
Items Card
Items The forty nine "Items" cards were identified by a "flashlight" icon. They featured different notable items and were used by players to help investigate a location. Fifteen new cards were added in the Alien Invaders expansion. Playing these cards required forfeiting a predetermined number of Scooby Snacks.
Friends Card
Friends The twenty "Friends" cards were identified by a "lantern" icon. They featured different notable supporting characters and were used to help lower the "Fright Level" of a location. Fourteen new cards were added in the Alien Invaders expansion. Playing these cards required forfeiting a predetermined number of Scooby Snacks.
Events Card
Events The eighty two "Events" cards were identified by a "treasure chest" icon. They featured a quote, location, action or item and were played to affect an investigation both positively and negatively. Sixty eight new cards were added in the Alien Invaders expansion. Playing these cards required forfeiting a predetermined number of Scooby Snacks.
