  • Because the picture book is targeted at younger kids, several details are omitted that were in the film, such as Wanda Grubwort being burned at the stake, Shaggy being in love with Velma, and Fred and Daphne being in a relationship.
  • In the final frame of the picture book, a shirt is photoshopped onto Fred, whereas in the film he is shirtless.
  • None of the book takes place in Coolsville, instead starting at Trowburg's Gas and Goods.
