On their travels in Las Vegas, Mystery Inc. was challenged by reclusive billionaire Hugo Hauser to stay a single night in the supposedly-haunted hotel; the hotel was scheduled to be demolished the morning after. Prior to its demolition, Mystery Inc. investigated the ghost of Madds Markson, a deceased magician known for transforming into a rabbit monster as an illusion. During a physical struggle with the rabbit monster, Fred Jones accidentally damaged the explosive's timer, reducing the time remaining before detonation. Mystery Inc. and the rabbit monster evacuated the building just before it imploded.
