Samson was the assistant to Jean Paul Poupon, a notable fashion designer.
Physical appearance[]
Samson is a Caucasian male with black hair and a beard. He wears a brown blazer over a red shirt with a yellow horizontal stripe, as well as brown pants and black shoes.
Personality[]
Samson initially appeared to be Poupon's loyal assistant, siding with him after his split with Martin Lumpke and assisting him in his work. However, he secretly held a deep-seated hatred toward Poupon over his previous actions. As Samson was part of a radical animal rights group, No Fur Now!, he was strongly opposed to Poupon's use of real fur in his designs. While his concern for animal rights were noble, Mystery Inc. saw the group as a danger to its stated goal of the "eradication of those who would destroy animals for their fur."
When Poupon ended his partnership with Martin Lumpke over a petty dispute, it created a rift between the five-person group Samson once called a family. Samson blamed Poupon for his apparent stubbornness, turning his hatred into a deeply-personal frustration and causing him to view the entire fashion industry as a whole as "madness." Despite this, he was deeply in love with Irena Plotnovich, seeing her as a more innocent person and wanting to escape the fashion industry with her. Samson ultimately turned to crime, looking to kidnap Plotnovich and escape with her, but Plotnovich condemned his actions by calling him the "real fake," exposing him for his deception, recklessness, and patronizing attitude toward her.
History[]
Early life[]
Samson was the assistant of fashion designer Jean Paul Poupon, who worked as a "family" along with Poupon's partner, Martin Lumpke, fellow assistant Henry, and fashion model Irena Plotnovich. However, as Poupon and Lumpke were both in love with Plotnovich and had differing views on animal fur, they had a fight which ultimately split the family. Samson and Henry remained with Poupon, while Plotnovich sided with Lumpke. Despite working for Poupon, Samson silently held a hatred for him as he was in love with Plotnovich as well, blaming Poupon for the group's separation.
Scooby-Doo! (DC Comics)[]
Opposing Poupon's use of real animal fur in his designs, Samson joined No Fur Now!, a radical animal rights activist group planning to attack Poupon at his upcoming fashion show. He also disguised himself as a werewolf and attacked Poupon in his studio, stealing his fur collection and preventing him from finishing his designs. This prompted Mystery Inc. to arrive on the scene to investigate the attacks.
Samson unmasked.
During their investigations, Mystery Inc. found parts of Samson's werewolf costume as well as a flyer for No Fur Now!, indicating the group had infiltrated the event. Mystery Inc. arranged a meeting between Poupon and Lumpke to conclude their investigations, but Samson suddenly attacked them as the werewolf, attempting to abduct Plotnovich and escape with her. However, Fred subdued him and Velma and Daphne captured him in a rug. He was unmasked and exposed, and despite his attempts to gain her admiration, Plotnovich condemned his actions, handing him to the police.
