Runaway Robi is the ninth episode of the second season of Shaggy & Scooby-Doo Get a Clue!, and the twenty-first overall.
Premise[]
Robi becomes Scooby and Shaggy's trainer, but overhears them criticizing his butlering and training skills, so that he runs away from home and into the clutches of Dr. Phineus Phibes.
Synopsis[]
Upon Shaggy and Scooby's request, Robi trains Shaggy and Scooby to be able to fight Phibes' plans. During the most rigorous part of the training, Robi repeatedly ambushes Shaggy and Scooby in surprise attacks. Shaggy and Scooby appreciate the training, but casually insult him as a butler and trainer. Robi, overhearing the conversation, becomes personally offended and leaves, declaring himself a failure to Shaggy and Scooby. He entrusts Sparky to fulfill his role, allowing it to receive Uncle Albert's calls, then leaves.
Robi becomes a waiter at a salad bar, but Agents 1 and 2 recognize him while eating there. They inform Phibes, who orders them to abduct Robi. He intended to extract Robi's memory, including all of Uncle Albert's inventions. After having Robi brought to his lair, Phibes claims he is looking to reform his ways and quit villainy, but requires Robi's help him change his career. He tricks Robi into getting into an operation table for the memory extraction, while Phibes gets into the other to receive the memories. When Shaggy and Scooby learn of Phibes' plans, they head to Phibes' lair with Sparky to stop them.
Using Sparky's abilities, Shaggy and Scooby infiltrate the laboratory. As they rescue Robi and Phibes remains trapped in the operating table, Sparky chases the agents around the room. He eventually lures Agent 2 into the operating table and Scooby, invisible with a Scooby Snack power, straps him in. Shaggy and Scooby activate the machine as they exit, causing Agent 2 and Phibes to switch bodies. Phibes assaults Agent 2 in anger as Shaggy and Scooby reconcile with Robi.
