Rudy Fortissimo is a punk opera singer.
Physical appearance[]
Fortissimo is a man with long, spiky blue hair combed straight up and a protruding chin. While in costume, he wore a black leather biker jacket with grey spikes on it, a white shirt, and a white ascot, as well as red plaid pants tucked into black boots. However, as a janitor, he wore a much less lavish brown uniform with a cylindrical cap and a nametag bearing his first name.
Personality[]
Fortissimo is arrogant and overconfident, demanding special attention as the lead and calling Shaggy a "plebeian," casually shoving him out of the way. Devon Barton and Amara Aria did not like his attitude, though this is mostly because they felt Barton deserved the lead role instead of Fortissimo. When Barton posed as a ghoul and gained applause from the audience, Fortissimo was personally offended, feeling solely entitled to the attention and fame. He was very hot-tempered toward them, demanding their immediate arrest and termination from the production. He was sure Eduardo Formanini would give in to his demand to be kept as leading man in the show. However, in the end, he was reduced to working for the theater as a janitor, for which he blames the gang.
History[]
Scooby-Doo! (DC Comics)[]
Fortissimo auditioned with his friend, Devon Barton, for a lead role in a punk musical. Fortissimo got the male lead, but Barton felt betrayed Fortissimo took the role, especially considering his fiancee, Amara Aria, had the female lead.
When an opera ghoul began terrorizing the production, threatening actors from the catwalk above the stage, Mystery Inc. began investigating, and Fortissimo rudely bumped Shaggy aside, calling him a "plebeian." Aria explained to them Fortissimo stole the role from Barton. However, as the ghoul soon appeared with Fortissimo still in the room, Mystery Inc. ultimately eliminated Fortissimo as a suspect.
Mystery Inc. was unable to catch the culprit before the show began. However, during the first act, while Fortissimo and Aria were onstage, the ghoul interrupted them and performed his confession to the audience. Revealing himself to be Barton, he exposed Fortissimo for stealing his role as male lead. In response, Fortissimo demanded Aria and Barton be arrested for interfering with the production, but the director, Eduardo Formanini, actually enjoyed Barton's performance. The show reopened the following week with Barton as male lead, and Fortissimo demoted to a janitor.
