Ronald Adair was the disguise of Dorian Wormwood, the retired stage actor. Adair was supposedly a theater critic who lost his job and became a bitter enemy of Wormwood.
Physical appearance[]
Adair was a middle-aged male with blond hair gray square-framed glasses with a pinkish tint. He wore a golfer's attire consisting of a turquoise polo shirt, a light yellow sweater tied around his neck, and a gold watch on his left wrist.
Personality[]
Adair was portrayed as a bitter enemy of Dorian Wormwood, giving terribly unfair reviews of his acting and calling him a "ham actor." However, when Wormwood complained and had him fired, his hatred for Wormwood grew even worse, spending years trying to get revenge. When he learned Wormwood planned his own death, he denied involvement but celebrated Wormwood's act, even though he personally would not be able to get revenge.
History[]
Scooby-Doo, Where Are You? (DC Comics)[]
Ronald Adair was the disguise of Dorian Wormwood, a retired actor who had staged his own death in front of Mystery Inc. When they began investigating, the chef, Mrs. Hudson, pointed them to Ronald Adair, Wormwood's toughest critic who had moved to the other side of the woods to harass Wormwood. Fred, Daphne, and Velma spoke to Adair; Adair celebrated Wormwood's "death" but also denied involvement, suggesting they focus on the suspects closest to Wormwood. Mystery Inc. later discovered Wormwood alive, posing as the groundskeeper, Joe Bell. Wormwood named Adair after the victim in the Sherlock Holmes short story The Adventure of the Empty House (1903).
