River Rapids Rampage

River Rapids Rampage is the first part in the four-part of the online game serial, Mayan Monster Mayhem.

Premise[]

Scooby and Shaggy are on a quest to find the world's hottest peppers for their chili recipe, but it's in jeopardy from the Mayan Mayhem.

Synopsis[]

After reaching, Central America, Scooby-Doo and Shaggy visit the Culpepper Hot Sauce Factory and ask Clodeius T. Culpepper for "El Habanero de Mucho Gusto" peppers, which they want to put in a chili recipe. He is unable to help them, but directs them to the Temple of Lost Souls where the peppers can be found and warns them of its dangers, but offers them supplies from his river camp; however, they must first deal with the animals that have taken over it. They first come across a monkey, which they manage to get pass by giving it a banana. The second animal is a snake, which can be dealt with using one of the drums or the frying pan. The bridge leading across the river has submerged, so they must find another way across. They can either use a palm tree to launch their way across of use the other drum like a trampoline to jump across. The third animal is a jaguar, which can be dealt with by using a pole to knock a rock down over its cave entrance or by using the hammock to block the entrance. After finding the supplies, they use a bonfire to light the pole they got earlier and use it to scare away the crocodile guarding the canoe. They pass by a monster called Mayan Mayhem, but they at first believe its a statue. It suddenly comes alive and attacks them and they have to brave the rapids to escape, eluding rocks, edges, whirlpools, piranhas, crocodiles, fallen trees, and the Mayan Mayhem.

After reaching shore, Shaggy reveals that he lost the map during the chase, but feels relieved that they lost the Mayan Mayhem and that they still have the canoe. Unfortunately, the Mayan Mayhem ambushes Shaggy and Scooby and destroys their boat.

Although not canon, Shaggy reveals that the Culpepper Hot Sauce Factory makes the Five Skull Fire Sauce, which he used first used in the What's New, Scooby-Doo? episode, Big Scare in the Big Easy.

Notes/trivia[]

This is the only episode of the Mayan Monster Mayhem series where the player controls a vehicle, in this case, a canoe.
There is a glitch that will happen if you knock the rock down over the cave or cover the cave with the hammock, which won't stop the jaguar from coming out. To avoid this, wait for it to reveal itself and then do one of two options.
Should you take too long after scaring away the crocodile, it will come back.

Goofs[]

The jaguar doesn't have spots when it walks in and out of the cave; however, when the hammock is used on it, it does have spots.
