The Rambling Ghost was the disguise of Buck Bender.
Physical appearance[]
The Rambling Ghost had beige emaciated gray skin, red sclera and a black mark on either side of his face under his eyes. He was quite tall, towering over Fred. He wore a red and white football helmet, a torn white football jersey with a large number '13' on the front, red pants and grey football shoes.
Personality[]
Personality wise, he was rude and would laugh evilly whenever he captured anyone. He enjoys making and maintaining a series of underground tunnels. He is also shown to be an adept trap-maker, using them to capture Velma, Shaggy, and Scooby, as well as the Hawks' star players, Crunch and Flash. He communicates largely by groans, rarely speaking in complete sentences.
He may have a fear of sharks, given the speed at which he ran from the Animatronic Shark Mascot.
History[]
The Scooby-Doo Show[]
Season one[]
Mr. Ellsworth unmasked.
The Rambling Ghost began appearing after coaches were fired, and started haunting the Hawks and their stadium, the Hawk Dome. He began doing so by capturing their star player and quarterback, Flash Granger, during the division championship game.
Buck Bender unmasked.
Buck Bender was an old coach that Mr. Prentice fired years ago. That newspaper clipping had incrimination evidence against Buck Bender. He was taking revenge on the stadium for firing him.
Appearances[]
Notes/trivia[]
- The Rambling Ghost seems to have unparalleled speed due to a few factors: his running speed, his pole-climbing speed, and the speed at which he switches lockers when hiding from Scooby in order to scare him. He is also shown to be extremely durable, as he was run over by a lawnmower and had no visible injuries.
