Quincy, along with his younger cousins, were locked in a vault hidden behind a painting and secret doorway in their house for an unknown amount of time by his cousin and famous horror writer Dan Barley. Dan shortly took over the mansion and used holograms to project various ghosts, vampires, other monsters, and even himself so he could use the inspiration to promote his book series called "Vampire Mansion". However, he was eventually rescued, albeit unexpectedly, by Velma, Shaggy and Scooby, who the latter two confused the vault as a potential treasure room.
