Personality[]
Al-Famir was initially presented as a generous man, sharing his water with Mystery Inc. during a drought. He appeared to aid Mystery Inc. during the drought by giving them information and directing them to Zalqara. However, he was later revealed to be a greedy person, as he caused the drought in the first place. Not only does he endanger the lives of his citizens for economic gain, but he also terrorizes others to keep them from discovering his operations. When caught, he seems somewhat cooperative, as he reveals that Chantal was his wife, which the gang didn't know.
Powers and abilities[]
- Hypnotism: Al-Famir is capable of hypnotism, allowing him to place his targets in an immediate trance for an extended period of time. His hypnotic abilities are extensive, as the victims often have no memory of their actions when hypnotized.

Season two[]
Al-Famir, the prince of the Egyptian town of Oulianker, participated in an operation to support his wife, Mademoiselle Chantal's cafe in the nearby town of Zalqara. Constructing a pipe system, he diverted groundwater from the Nile River to Zalqara, inducing a drought in Oulianker and prompting its citizens to move to Zalqara. To prevent tourists from discovering the hidden pipelines in the Pyramid of the Moon, he hypnotized Australian explorer Melbourne O'Reilly into disguising himself as the Mummy of Pharoah Scamses and scaring them away. He also hypnotized several tourists into becoming zombie-like slaves.
Prince Qasl captured for his crimes.
Mystery Inc. first met him posing as a beggar in Oulianker. After giving Scooby-Doo some water, he revealed himself as the prince of the town and directed the group to Zalqara, which was unaffected by the drought. However, after Mystery Inc. unmasked O'Reilly as the mummy, al-Famir was caught attempting to flee the crime scene. He was subsequently exposed for masterminding the crimes and handed over to authorities.
