Scooby-Doo and the Tiki's Curse[]

The tiki god legend was used by a greedy old woman and her two accomplices via projected images of him around a section of land in Hawaii, as it was own by Mystery Inc.'s friend Johnny Kopono and his family, to them away so they could buy the land for next to nothing. They also used special effects like a giant fan to make it look like sections of the island were being blown by hostile winds, and the old woman would use grains of sand to throw over the projection for the glowing effect, while also disguising her own voice.
