Professor Mawer is the former leader of a druid commune near Emerald Grove, Vermont. He stole a statue and disguised himself as Cernunnos to declare war against the town, becoming the true leader hailed in the statue's prophecy.
Physical appearance[]
Mawer is a plump, short middle-aged man with messy brown hair, round glasses, and a golden crown on his head with a triangular symbol, possibly based on the triquetra. He also wears a blue robe with a yellow sun pattern on it and brown sandals.
Personality[]
Mawer initially appeared to be a hospitable man, welcoming Mystery Inc. into his commune. He claims that his Druidic sect follows the same traditions as the ancient druids. However, as according to true druid Mr. Pamix, Mawer is really a charlatan and far from a real druid; while the ancient druids were focused on following the traditional way of life, Mawer was overly-reliant on expensive technologies such as an alarm watch and holograms. Pamix considers Mawer to be a poor leader, given his compulsive spending, stating that the druids need a much stronger leader to give them guidance.
Pamix's ideas about Mawer were later proven correct after Mawer was exposed as Cernunnos and the statue thief. Mawer was revealed to be a fraud who only became leader of the druids under false pretenses and tricked his own druids to fulfill a prophecy in order to become crowned as a true leader. In doing so, he falsely blamed the citizens of Emerald Grove for the theft, almost triggering a war between the two groups.

Mawer was the curator of a museum, but was fired for overspending the museum's budget on expensive hologram technologies.

Mawer assumed leadership of a neo-Druidic commune near Emerald Grove, Vermont, after one of their most valued statues was stolen. Mawer stole the statue himself, but he blamed the theft on the citizens of Emerald Grove, preparing to declare war against them. He intended to fulfill an ancient prophecy in which the statue would be stolen, but the true leader of the druids would return it. By returning the statue, he would be crowned the true leader according to the prophecy. In his several attacks against Emerald Grove, he disguised himself as Cernunnos, a Celtic god, who terrorized the town with a pack of wolves (created with holographic projections).

In their investigation of the monster attacks, Mystery Inc. investigated his commune, where they first met him. They later found the stolen statue in a pickup truck in the commune; though Mawer hid the statue deep in the woods, it was found by Mr. Pamix and brought back to the commune. Mawer later attacked Mystery Inc. again as Cernunnos, but tripped over Shaggy's pan pipe and fell, accidentally hitting himself on the head. He was unmasked, exposed for his crimes, and handed over to police sheriff Blake. Pamix, fulfilling the prophecy, assumed leadership of the druids in Mawer's place.
