The Pizza Monster was the disguise of Sal to scare everyone out of his pizzeria and retire to Napoli.
Physical appearance[]
The Pizza Monster resembled a huge male humanoid made with tomato cheese pepperoni and mushrooms all over its body, hence its name. The mushrooms were real, but it is unknown whether the rest of the costume was made of real food. It also looked bald and had red eyes.
Personality[]
The Pizza Monster was a hostile monster who attacked victims by chasing, making unintelligible roars. However, it was clumsy as Sal was an aging man.

The Pizza Monster was the disguise of Sal, who wanted to sabotage his own restaurant as an excuse to retire to Napoli. He no longer wanted to compete with his rival, Dino D'Onofrio, who had been copying his recipes but using canned ingredients. Sal used canned mushrooms from D'Onofrio's pizzas to decorate his costume. After Sal told Mystery Inc. about the attacks, they offered to run the restaurant as they investigated the crime.

The Pizza Monster first attacked Shaggy and Scooby just before they were about to open the restaurant. However, he left behind a canned mushroom, which Mystery Inc. collected as a clue. As Fred, Velma, and Daphne to investigate D'Onofrio's pizzeria, the Pizza Monster attempted to attack Shaggy and Scooby. However, he spilled a tub of pizza sauce, slipped on it, and could not get up. Shaggy and Scooby, noticing, called Fred, Velma, and Daphne to the scene to confront Sal about his actions. After Sal confessed to his actions, he made a business deal with D'Onofrio and partially retired, spending half of each year on vacation in Napoli.
