The Phantom of the Chicago Opera house was a same disguise used by five different people for different independent reasons.
Physical appearance[]
He has a green skull - face with wisps of hair sticking out, broken teeth, and glowing red eyes. Given that Mel Richmond and Lance Damon are both overweight, they would clearly need to wear a corset under the Phantom's suit, to make themselves look thin and in shape. He wore a dark red large cape and a black bow tie. He also wore a costume that was seemingly a common one.
Personality[]

Dewey Ottoman

Steve Tribly

Lance Damon

Mel Richmond
All acted ruthlessly, and had a maniacal cackle. As Lance Damon, his personality had shown a powerful will to allow his daughter win the competition. As Mel Richmond, he had shown very destructive behavior, trying to burn the Opera House in order to gain his desired profit. Not much is known about him as Brick Pimiento, other then that he wasn't really evil, nor was Steve Trilby, who just thought he wasn't nice looking and simply wanted to hide. He also had shown a powerful will and destruction and thievery as Dewey Ottoman.
Powers and abilities[]

Brick Pimiento
Some of the Phantoms had great athletic and rope-swinging skills. One had prepared vanishing tricks using stage magic (Lance Damon), and another by tampering with a security monitor (Dewey Ottoman). None of the phantoms were able to fly, even though, this was shown in the beginning that the first one could, however he seemed to have grabbed a rope.
History[]
Early life[]
It all started back in the 70s. Steve Trilby was haunting the Opera House while it was a discotheque using the mask to hide his horrifying face. The phantom at first wasn't evil or so it seemed like. Yet, as the time went on, he became more evil and destructive, caused what seemed like chaos and even created fires. He even destroyed the Disco ball once. Since then he was lost from people's eyes and had seemingly returned.
Scooby-Doo! Stage Fright[]
It all started with Dewey Ottman cleaning the Opera House. The phantom appeared high on the stage rigging, swung down on a rope and grabbed Dewey's list. He then continued swinging over the seating, disappearing into the darkness
Throughout the course of the mystery, there were several encounters with different phantoms with Dewey posing as the phantom to steal a valuable diamond, Lance doing it so his daughter would win the show, Brick doing it for publicity, and Mel doing it in order to burn the place down for the insurance money.

Notes/trivia[]
- The Phantom holds the record for the most culprits wearing the disguise, five, and all for individual reasons.
- The "Phantom" is inspired by Gaston's book "The Phantom of the Opera".
- It is unknown what kind of crime Brick Pimiento did. Most likely he was charged with hindering the apprehension of the other phantoms by pretending to be one, especially as they were actually dangerous, and thereby wasting police time.
- The first phantom who appears in the movie and attacks Dewey was likely Lance Damon as they later found the same clipboard it had "Christine must win!" written on it and Lance was the only phantom who had a motive to do this.
- Although caped and a phantom, he couldn't fly.
- Brick Pimiento called the Mystery Inc to take part in the tournament. Ironically, it's what sealed his fate since he was also in a disguise of a phantom. Thus he was arrested.
