Pete and Pete were working for a university.

Physical appearance[]

Pete and Pete are a pair of young males that look identical in appearance, though they are not confirmed to be twins. They both have short brown hair kept in a neat hairstyle and defined, square chins. In addition to their matching physical features, they wear matching formal clothing, consisting of white collared button-down shirts, khaki pants, green blazers with notch lapels, dark green bow ties, and brown shoes. They also wear grey belts with turquoise buckles.

Personality[]

Pete and Pete were initially presented as a pair of affable young men, being described by Daphne as "odd, but nicer than Dr. Tuttle." They also showed concern for Mystery Inc. as they warned about their boss, Professor Tuttle, and her aggressive behaviour. However, as shown by their involvement in the crime, they are revealed to be motivated by greed and are willing to resort to illegal mining to obtain wealth. As shown by their involvement in the dinosaur attacks, they are aggressive people willing to cause destroy buildings and terrorize children for personal gain. They are also willing to turn on each other as they keep their findings to themselves, which causes their partnership to break apart. They tend to speak with a stereotypical Canadian accent, punctuating some of their sentences with words such as "no?" and "eh?."

History[]

Scooby-Doo and Guess Who?[]

Season one[]

Pete and Pete worked for an unnamed university as the assistants of world-renowned archaeologist Josephine Tuttle. When Tuttle was given exclusive rights to dig at a site in the Rocky Mountains, they came along to assist her, but also illegally mined the site and kept some fossils for themselves. However, loud noises from the nearby Weird Al's Accordion Camp triggered a landslide in the mountains, exposing the cave where they mined. To cover up their tracks, they created a green dinosaur disguise to scare the camp attendees away from their site of operations.

Pete and Pete unmasked.

Pete and Pete first spoke with Mystery Inc. after the group encountered the less affable Professor Tuttle in the cave, where they warned Mystery Inc. about her aggressive, irritable behaviour. However, after a dinosaur egg was found by Mystery Inc. they attempted to seize the egg. Their partnership broke apart after one Pete accused the other of attempting to keep the egg for himself. As such, he created a second, red disguise to fight his counterpart, the green dinosaur, over the egg. They fell into a trap set by Mystery Inc., being washed by a river into a net, where they were captured, exposed, and subsequently arrested.

Notes/trivia[]

  • Though it is not revealed where Pete and Pete are from or what university they work for, their accents suggest that they are likely from Canada or the upper midwest of the United States.
  • Pete and Pete share two traits that are uncommon even among twins: identical names and identical attire. Aside from slight differences in their voices (they were voiced by two different actors), there is no practical method to tell any difference between the two.
