Paolo is Steve Buscemi's cousin.
Physical appearance[]
Paolo is an aging, thin Italian male with short, greying hair and defined jawline. He wears a white undershirt and blue collared shirt underneath a black blazer with notch lapels. He also wears a pair of green dress pants held up by a black belt and black shoes. Notably, he resembles his cousin, Steve Buscemi, to the point that Shaggy referred to him as Buscemi's "evil twin."
Personality[]
Paolo is one of the very few people in Menfi who do not fear Buscemi. However, he is driven by wrath, envy and pride; he greatly envies Buscemi for his success as a celebrity actor, believing himself to be more deserving of stardom. He expresses pure vitriol towards Buscemi, to the point that he curses misfortune on him. So, although he does not literally believe Buscemi is a criminal gangster, he still refers to him as a criminal for "stealing" his career. His hatred led him to be deemed suspicious by Velma, though he was not found guilty of any crimes.
Like the other citizens of Menfi, Paolo speaks in an Italian accent.
History[]
Scooby-Doo and Guess Who?[]
Season one[]
Paolo was the cousin of celebrity actor Steve Buscemi, living in Menfi, Sicily. Paolo was first seen at a family gathering, where he confronted Buscemi for "stealing his career." Expressing jealousy of his success and claiming he should have been famous instead of Buscemi, Paolo cursed Buscemi and stormed off. For his anger, Velma deemed him a suspect for being the Fire Monster of Mount Etna. However, Paolo was later found innocent after Mystery Inc. incriminated another cousin, Nana, for the crimes.
