The Opera Ghoul was the disguise of Devon Barton.

Physical appearance[]

The Opera Ghoul was a green-skinned ghost-like goblin with brown hair. He wore a black shirt with a bowtie, a necklace, black pants, and black boots.

Personality[]

The Opera Ghoul appeared to be a hostile monster that threatened the actors from above on a catwalk, but later appeared onstage to dramatically express his backstory to an audience. According to him, Barton did not want to scare the actors or terrorize the production, but he felt it was the only way to get what he wanted.

Devon Barton unmasked

Devon Barton unmasked.

The Opera Ghoul was the disguise of actor Devon Barton, who wanted a chance to perform in a punk musical to show he was better than the musical's male lead, Rudy Fortissimo. His fiancée, Amara Aria, helped him, giving him access to the stage. When many actors spotted the ghoul on the catwalk, the show's director, Eduardo Formanini, summoned Mystery Inc. to the scene to investigate. However, before they could find enough evidence to catch the culprit, the show started, but the ghoul interrupted the show, leaping onstage from the catwalk. In song, the ghoul exposed Fortissimo for stealing the role from him. Fortissimo demanded they be arrested, but Formanini chose to forgive them, giving Barton the role and demoting Fortissimo to a janitor.
